Training
As dog behavior trainers,
our role is to help dog owners and their dogs understand and
communicate with each other. We at Tailwaggers feel that many
dogs are given up to shelters due to being misunderstood or
classified as “bad dogs”, “Marleys” or having “dog behavior
problems”. We help educate pet parents about dog psychology
and dog language so everyone can live happy, balanced and
fulfilled lives. We work with dogs of all sizes and all breeds,
from the smallest Yorkshire Terrier to the largest Great Dane.
Using our unique teaching
methods, we begin training based on the way you and your dog
naturally learn by coming to your home to help you with your
dog’s problems. Your home is the best place for learning as
this is where most issues arise and as a result, where they
need to be solved. Our methods are positive, easy to understand,
and when incorporated into your routine will improve the bond
between you and your dog. We are highly skilled in all breeds,
ages and behavioral issues. We serve all of Westchester, Rockland,
Bergen, Fairfield and Putnam Counties. Hire the trainers trusted
by the Humane Society! Call us now at (914) 372-1002 for a

Puppy
Training
You should start to train
your puppy as early as 8 weeks old. By starting early,
you will be preventing unnecessary work for yourself and
your puppy. Puppies start learning all of their habits,
good or bad, as soon as you bring them home. It is always
better to start out on the right paw by encouraging good
habits right from the beginning! If your dog is older than
8 weeks, not to worry. We are happy to start training at
any age! In our one-on-one sessions we will quickly and
effectively teach you everything you need to know to ensure
a lifetime of happiness, including:
- Communicating with and understanding
your puppy
- How to become your puppy’s leader
- Nutrition, health and wellness
- Housetraining
- Basic training commands
- Nipping, chewing, barking, jumping solutions
- Positive socialization
- Preventing fear, problem behaviors and
more
